There was drama at Muthurwa market yesterday evening after a female passenger str!pped nak3d deliberately to avoid being arrested by the city council askaris.
The scene attracted a huge crowd of onlookers who flocked the scene to catch a glimpse of the events as they were unfolding.
The late evening incident disrupted business at the busy market as everyone was confused and stood staring at the woman. The council askaris were arresting hawkers and other traders as usual when the woman allegedly alighted at a roundabout near the market, which is illegal according to City Council by-laws.
She was ambushed by two council askaris who arrested her and dragged her to their van that was parked nearby. To save herself, she lifted her dress as if she wanted to strip. Not wanting to see more, the askaris let her go before she could completely undress.
